Why host needs your ID details for the check-in (eVisitor)

Under Croatian law, every accommodation provider must register guests with the national eVisitor system during their stay. This isn’t optional paperwork, it’s a legal requirement, so its ordinary practice when host asks for the following details from each guest (entire group) ahead or upon arrival:

  • Last name
  • First name
  • Sex (M/F)
  • Date of birth
  • Current residence (city, country)
  • ID number

You can type these out to your host, while some guests simply send a photo of all the ID’s or passports – they find it faster that way, and it works just as well for registration purposes.

This information is only used to complete your official eVisitor registration, nothing else. If you’d like to see how the system works from the accommodation side, here’s the official short walkthrough: https://youtu.be/IJgd_-m_HjI
